Peace
The greatest contribution we can make to the wellbeing of those in our lives is to have peace in our own hearts. Our state of being broadcasts expansion or contraction to every sentient creature within our midst. When our hearts are filled with gratitude and our minds are brimming with enthusiasm, everyone we encounter leaves our space feeling a little bit lighter than when they entered it.

As we expend less energy upholding our self-importance, we gain access to the creative and nurturing flow of our own nature. Reverence for life and simple appreciation for the gift of living subtly reminds others not to take themselves too seriously. If we navigate the world while desperately trying to exert control over events, we become offended whenever our authority is challenged.

Cultivating an inner attitude of ease and acceptance, we ride the inevitable waves of life with passion and wonder. Knowing at the core of our being that life moves from the shore of beginnings to ending and back again, we can relax and enjoy the ride. Reminding the others on our boat to breathe when it gets a little turbulent is a precious gift.

As we enter the final days of the year, it’s an ideal time to reflect and fill your heart with gratitude for the people, things, and experiences you’ve had this year. Notice a shift in the quality of your thoughts and the sensations in your body. Imagine a world where fullness, rather than deprivation predominates. Tap into you inner light and allow it to dispel the darkness. This gift replenishes itself the more you circulate its bounty.
