Udvartna

The Udvartna (ood-vart-na) is a traditional Ayurvedic massage treatment that purifies and energizes you at the deepest cellular level. The treatment begins with two therapists massaging you with a healing herbal paste that draws excess fluid from the body, clearing the lymphatic vessels. Then you are gently wrapped in a cocoon of herbs and oils customized for your unique mind-body constitution. The herbal wrap allows your body to absorb the healing qualities of the Ayurvedic herbs and oil, releasing stress and bringing you into deep restful awareness.

The massage strokes in the Udvartna are firm and rejuvenating, stimulating the body’s circulation and the release of toxins that accumulate in the body’s tissues. The herbal paste is also a powerful exfoliant that will leave your skin looking fresh and vibrant.

The Udvartna is especially recommended if you have developed a Kapha dosha imbalance, characterized by:
