Oshadhi

The Oshadhi (pronounced  o-saw-dee)  is an Ayurvedic healing treatment that rejuvenates the body and stimulates the release of toxins. In fact, the word oshadhi is a Sanskrit term that means “healing herb” or “medicine.”

In the first part of the treatment, your entire body is massaged with pure essential oils and herbs customized for your specific dosha or mind-body type. You are then cocooned in warm sheets that are infused with more healing oils and special herbs. The soothing warmth of the herbal wrap heats the body and allows the herbs to penetrate deeply.

The Oshadhi is particularly helpful for balancing Vata dosha, whose fundamental qualities are cold, dry, rough, changeable, and light. The Vata dosha is always the first dosha to go out of balance, and  in the autumn, when the weather become cool and windy, Vata can easily become aggravated, leading to symptoms such as dry skin, nervousness, and fatigue. The warm oil and healing herbs of the Oshadhi eliminate excess Vata, as well as toxins stored in the body’s tissues. You will feel restored and vibrant after this powerful Ayurvedic spa treatment.
