Question:

I’ve read/heard that our sub-conscious is a place where doubts, fears and limitations exist from our experiences and past. These doubts/fears drive the way we are, and even to the point where deep-seated fears affect the Law of Attraction. If we have a deep limited thought that we don’t deserve _____, we’ll never get it until we erase the sub-conscious belief (through whatever means).
I’ve also read/heard that the sub-conscious is God-conscious…our natural state.
So my question is…how can the sub-conscious be the place of fears and limits AND the unlimited power of creation of God at the same time?

Answer:

In psychological terms, the subconscious is where suppressed urges and desires lurk. This is the sense of the subconscious that you referred to when you said it was where doubts, fears and limitations from our past are stored.
The other sense of the subconscious that you spoke of, as the place of our divine nature, is an unconventional use of the term. One could describe our untapped potential that lies under our conscious thinking mind literally as sub (under) conscious, but because of the long-standing psychological implications of that term, spiritual teachers will understandably steer clear of that word to describe the soul’s true essence to avoid confusion.
The larger picture is that the realms of the mind that lie under our superficial thoughts does hold the history of our ignorance, fears and injuries, but deeper within, past all these relative states of experience is our core consciousness which is our pure divine essence. That is our true identity. And as all the intermediary levels of the mind are healed, balanced and integrated into our unified self, our intentions are fully supported and aligned with all aspects of our awareness.

Deepak
