A Word from Dr Simon
According to Vedic science, the intention for consciousness to become the universe is feminine, a quality of the Divine Mother. Creativity is an inherent property of Mother Nature, who loves to turn the One into the Many. The Sanskrit name given to this subtle yet most powerful impulse to manifest as form and phenomena is Prakruti. “Pra” is the primordial, primary, primitive intention. “Kruti” is movement or action and is the root of the words karma and kriya. Prakruti is the original impulse that takes consciousness from potential to manifest, from possible to probable, from ineffable to tangible. She is the womb of creation from which the world is birthed.
In living beings, Prakruti expresses herself as the primary intention for individual manifestation. This force that gives rise to and upholds each living being’s personalized existence is prana. Again, the sound pra is primary and primordial – and na is the sound of a separation and negation. Prana is the vital life force that generates, sustains, and ultimately reabsorbs the individuality of biological beings. It is the essence of the lifeline that connects our personalities to universal being. Prana is an expression of the cosmic CPR that Nature is perpetually performing on us, day and night. It teaches us to align with the flow of life, for resistance can only lead to distress and anxiety.
You can enliven prana by making choices that expand awareness, enthusiasm, and creativity. Consciously connect to the nurturing elements and forces of nature through each of your senses, ingesting beautiful uplifting sounds, loving touch, inspiring sights, delectable tastes, and luscious aromas. Make a pilgrimage to a spectacular natural setting where all your senses are nourished, and breathe deeply. Connect to the five great elements – earth, water, fire, air, and space – by wiggling your toes or fingers in the ground, spending time near natural bodies of water, feeling the sun on your body, communing with plants, and gazing into the sky. Each breath of life is a gift from Mother Divine. Take a few moments today to appreciate her. She will respond by expanding your mind and heart.
With love,
David
