“The best way to make your dreams come
true is to wake up.”
~ Paul Valery

I've gone through many transitions in life. Some of them were challenging and some were smooth. My easy-flowing passages in life started four years ago when I was first introduced to the world of meditation by Dr. Deepak Chopra during a business meeting. At the end of our meeting, he autographed a copy of his guided meditation CD, Soul of Healing, and suggested that I start meditating as it was apparent that I was under a lot of stress.

That meeting and the meditation CD changed my life. Suddenly, I knew that my career at the time was not my soul work and that I had many other gifts to share with humanity. What I didn't know was how and in what ways I could serve.

To get clear answers about my life's path, mission, and purpose, I meditated again and again. In the beginning I would meditate twice a day for an hour each time. The beauty was that I never “tried” to meditate, never forced myself . . . I just meditated. And everything started to unfold naturally as I was surrendering to my deepest wishes.

I began to take workshops at The Chopra Center and from many other institutions and individuals, learning all I could about self-transformation, meditation, and putting your passion into practice. While I was trying different meditation techniques, I took a course in Primordial Sound Meditation and realized that teaching meditation was a major part of my calling.

There are two simple reasons I teach Primordial Sound Meditation. First, I believe in the power of meditation because I've experienced it firsthand. Meditation is not about forcing our mind to be quiet but is rediscovering the quietness that already exists.

Behind the curtains of our internal conversation is the silence of pure awareness ― a silence that is not disturbed by resentments of the past or concerns for the future. Here in this silence, we access the source of balance, fulfillment, and wellbeing within us. With the help of meditation, we no longer spend most of our lives looking outward at the world, believing that the source of happiness, peace, and fulfillment lies in something external to ourselves. On the contrary, we realize that we were born to be happy and peaceful.

The second reason why I teach Primordial Sound Meditation is that I like the style and technique. It's easy and effective. I always promote simple and easy living, and I believe strongly that Primordial Sound Meditation is one of the simplest tools to practice stillness and silence of the mind.

I now meditate twice a day for half an hour each time. When I find myself even a tiny bit fearful of the uncertainties in life ― a little less grounded, compassionate or patient ― I know that I have missed one of my meditation sessions that day. The Chopra Center says, “You are always one meditation away from enlightenment,” and I keep that as my guiding principle.

My wish is that my story inspires every individual to embark on a journey of meditation. I have no doubt in my mind that if I can change and enrich my life through meditation, everyone else can, too.
