Share Your Intentions
Happy 2013. May this year be one in which your intentions are realized.
The new year has many people making resolutions. Intentions, however, go a bit deeper – they come from the soul and are the seeds that we plant for who we aspire to be as individuals, members of society, and citizens of planet Earth.
Whether your intent is to find balance, a healthy lifestyle, return to a meditation practice, or give back to your community, the first step is to actually articulate your deepest desires. After all, every action starts with an intention. When we share an intention with others, we make ourselves feel more accountable for the mission we want to complete. When you know what your intention is and you can state it to others, then you are more likely to make the initiative to make your aspiration come true.
Intent.com is an online community where members can share their dreams and aspirations, and receive support from others. We hope you will join us and share your intentions for personal, social, global, and spiritual wellbeing in 2013. Learn more and join the global Intent community here >>
About the author
Mallika Chopra learned about the power of intention at a young age from her father, Deepak. After family meditations (she learned when she was 9), her father would guide Mallika and her brother, Gotham, to repeat the following affirmation:
I am responsible for what I see.
I choose the feelings I experience
And set the goals I will achieve
Everything that seems to happen to me,
I ask for and receive as I have asked.
He then taught them to ask for love, hope, purpose, passion, inspiration, and so many other positive qualities in their lives every day. Starting every day with an intent proved to be an anchoring device that led to connection, happiness, and personal fulfillment.
Mallika is mom to Tara and Leela and has written two books inspired by them — 100 Promises To My Baby and 100 Questions From My Child. Both books represent her intention to be a conscious parent.
