As described by the ninth-century sage Adi Shankara – one of the most influential teachers of yogic philosophy and Vedic science – these three realms encompass our physical body, our energetic body, the extended body of our environment; our mind, intellect, and ego; and our personal soul, collective soul, and universal soul.
