Lara is a California Bilingual Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, a Licensed School Counselor, a registered yoga teacher, a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, and an Integrative Yoga Therapist. The two primary modalities that Lara offers are Somatic Experiencing® and Integrative Restoration® (also known as iRest). Her own experience using these modalities have brought her a level of peace, equanimity, and health greater than she could have imagined, and she is passionate about sharing these healing practices with others.

At Perfect Health, you have the opportunity to experience an iRest Yoga Nidra session with Lara. Research has shown that iRest Yoga Nidra can effectively treat depression, anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, chronic pain, and chemical dependency. As Lara describes, “During an iRest session, rather than engaging solely on the level of the mind, where many of us dwell, you’ll move awareness into your body. Through this somatic work, we welcome everything that arises – including emotions, thoughts, images and sensations – as vital messengers. In particular, pain is our nervous system’s natural response to internal and external events, calling for our attention.  You’ll learn to listen from a deep place, harnessing greater insights about your life circumstances and ultimately enjoying greater health and wellbeing”

What you can expect from an iRest Yoga Nidra session:

  • Connect with your authentic self by identifying your unique heart’s desire, such as healing from illness, finding a relationship, or cultivating inner peace.
  • Learn breathing and somatic practices to build inner resilience, and calm the body's fight-or-flight reaction to pain.
  • Recognize and experience thee underlying peace of mind that is always present amidst all changing circumstances of life.
