A Note of Gratitude from davidji

Dji_Web2It was around this time last year when – as I was re-reading The Ten Commitments by David Simon – I decided to make them personal and commit to make 2009 the most amazing year of my life.

What exactly did that even mean? I sat down and carefully read Deepak’s Seven Spiritual Laws of Success and made a commitment to read each day’s law and weave it into my day. I then made a commitment to take a look at my choice-making. I wanted to live each day with more grace and ease. Recognizing that every decision I make EVERY day is a choice between a grievance and a miracle, I wanted to celebrate with the universe not complain about it . . . so in 2009, I chose the miracle. WoW!

We work in a loving, nurturing place that serves people from all over the world. Some days are easy and some days are hard – that’s the beauty of life. Knowing we have the love and support of those we work with makes all the difference. By loving each member of our family even more and helping them achieve their dharma, the family gets stronger, our personal dreams are realized, and the world is served more profoundly.

We work in the sweet spot of the universe filled with powerful energy, gorgeous weather, and the magnificent ocean prana that we get to breathe each day. We also get to reflect daily and look at how far we’ve come in our personal growth, our career, and our relationships.

Our connection to spirit grows and blossoms and blooms each day through our various practices, and we can make a difference in the world by sharing our energy and continuing to transform ourselves to BE peace.

The Chopra Center continues to experience boundless abundance through its healing programs, empowering seminars, meditation retreats, teacher trainings, massage therapies, daily classes, and lifestyle products. Each of these is only as special as we make it. The Center’s founders, Deepak and David, have chosen to commit their heart and soul to the abundance of the Center. I am grateful for so much that is beyond words.

So here I sit on November 1, 2009, ready to turn my good intentions into amazing choices.

Will you join me in committing to make these next two months and the ensuing 2010 the most amazing and fulfilling year of your life?

Send me an email if you’re in!!
Peace. – davidji

greetings davidji, to find contentment in each day of life I join the party already happening in nature … thank you for inspiring that reminder in my daily practice. we met at skamania, sept 08, a light shining so bright…as I sit, I write and embrace the solitude I am asked to appreciate…I see visions of a more vibrant self emerging and choose miracles when I fear who I am today is it. without a mind to depend on, some may wonder how i’ve existed joyfully for the last 7 years. solitude has blessed me with access to self and freedom. blessings to you, the community and the founders… cheryl rask

  8. Christine Says:

Dear Davidji, I am following one of Deepaks seven law (nearly) every day since summer 2009. I am in north Germany and I sent the book to my daughter in GB (Dorset) and she is looking for the laws too. Since two or three weeks three other people join us and now we are a little group, thinking every day about one law and whriting emails to tell the others about it. The first weeks I couldn´t remember it every day and forgot it when I went to my office. But now it is much easyer and it is amazing to read about the thouhgts of the friends.
Yesterday I went with my car from Berlin to Wilhelmshaven (my home). I had 5 hours to drive. I had to follow law Nr.1. I didn´t speek nor hear radio for all the time, and did no phonecalls. I got direct contact with nature, when I went to the bathrooms and the rain was falling on my face. One time, I got rid of my shoes and went over the grass (it was really cold) and I didn´t adjudicate upon the other drivers….
It ist really amazing. I felt so happy.
And I´m really really grateful about this seven laws. This and Brandon Bays´ The Journey ist really changing my life into more happyness and health.
    Thank you.
    Christine

    Hello Davidji,
I have been amazed at how the Chopra newsletter and links, especially the podcast have helped me. I have had chronic insomnia for years, and have recently had enough courage to unfortunately end a very dysfunctional marriage. The information and insight has been so soothing and comforting. I am a very fortunate person, and have tried to realize this in my life. So, from this day forth, I too will join you in making these months for of gracious gratitude.

My husband and I are coming out of a long, difficult time with our teenage son, and despite the pain and work involved, we are so grateful for the changes that have taken place over the last year. We are finally feeling hope, relief, and joy, and it is our intention to continue down that path towards an amazing 2010. Regardless of any future setbacks, we join in your quest to make the next two months, and the rest of our lives, the most fulfilling we possibly can. Thank you for your caring spirit.

  27. Elaine Irizarry Says:

    Davidji,
Like you, I am blessed live and work on the ocean. Last night, after watching the sun set to the west, I walked out to the beach and saw the most amazing moon rise ever. As I sat on this desolate patch of beach (with my dog) in the northwest tip of Puerto Rico and watched the red moon turn white and rise in the sky, a strong emotion rose inside me and I just sat there with tears streaming for awhile. The miracle of love and beauty of nature merged into me. The concerns that I had been stressing about earlier in the day evaporated and yes, all was as it needed to be and has always been! I will join you in making these next two months and 2010 the most amazing in my life so far….

    Namaste,
    Elaine

  42. Lauren Williams Says:

    Warm greetings Davidji,

I spend the past 3 days looking at end of the year resolutions…well, New Year’s resolutions aren’t very successful so I thought I would try a different time of the year! Several of the issues I have committed to cause me great anxiety yet I know I can go no further without working hard on them. I have reread Deepak’s 7 laws and some days remember to keep that day’s law in focus as well and getting back to meditation practice using the mantra you taught me Kripalu several years ago. And just now I read you blog on gratitude and am responding to your serendiptous invitation. I will be with you and all the others as we commit to starting an amazing and fulfilling year. Mine started 3 days ago, I am most grateful and humbled.

    Blessings to all,
    Lauren

  52. Sumitra Says:

I’m in! Here are some quotes from my faith tradition – the Baha’i Faith – on thanksgiving and gratitude:

“In this day, to thank God for His bounties consisteth in possessing a radiant heart, and a soul open to the promptings of the spirit. This is the essence of thanksgiving.” (Abdu’l-Baha, Selections from the Writings of Abdu’l-Baha, p. 179)

“One may say thank you a thousand times while the heart remains thankless, ungrateful. Therefore, mere verbal thanksgiving is without effect. But real thankfulness is a cordial giving of thanks from the heart. When man in response to the favors of God manifests susceptibilities of conscience, the heart is happy, the spirit is exhilarated. These spiritual susceptibilities are ideal thanksgiving.” (Abdu’l-Baha, The Promulgation of Universal Peace, p. 236)
