Melissa is the Senior Content Strategist at the Chopra Center. Also a yoga instructor, she is passionate about motivating people to live a healthy, balanced, and purposeful life. Melissa is the author of The Type A's Guide to Mindfulness: Meditation for Busy Minds and Busy People, a practical guide for new meditators in the modern world, and the creator of mindfulminutes.com, a personal blog about mindfulness and life balance in the digital age.
Melissa teaches Vinyasa classes at her favorite studio in San Diego, meditation and yoga to kids and families in the oncology ward at Rady’s Children’s Hospital, and yoga classes in corporate settings.
Her favorite part of teaching and writing about the world of yoga and mindfulness is the challenge of figuring out where people are in their journey, and meeting them there. It's about encouraging her students and readers to challenge their bodies and open their minds and hearts each time they step onto the yoga mat or open an article to read. It’s about finding the right way to reach people and connect with them so they can understand, relate to, and benefit from the practices of yoga, meditation, and all of the ancient wisdom and teachings.
