Agni’s Featured Teacher Panos Asimakis – Athens, Greece
Certified Primordial Sound Meditation instructor Panos Asimakis is a counselor and psychotherapist who combines his traditional doctoral training with the tools of meditation and ayurveda. In addition to seeing patients in his private practice, Panos teaches counseling and psychotherapy training courses at the Athens Synthesis Centre.
How many Chopra Center events have you attended? In addition to the courses required to become a certified teacher, I’ve also been to a Chopra Center event in India. I’ve also had the chance to hear Deepak Chopra speak two times when he came to Greece.
What was your favorite event? In Ireland, attending the advanced Seduction of Spirit retreat [Seduction of Silence]. It was incredible to experience this profound silent meditation retreat with people from all over the world . . . to get the training in advanced knowledge and meditation practices and have the professional assistance of the Chopra Center staff . . . it was such a great experience.
What inspires you to teach? I believe that Primordial Sound Meditation is a very powerful technology for everyone. When I receive feedback from new meditators about how learning to meditate has changed their lives, it inspires me even more to expand the knowledge.
I’m also feeling very happy as the Athens Synthesis Centre has recently published Greek translations of the books Perfect Health and Freedom from Addiction. We hope we will continue to publish such quality books by Deepak Chopra and David Simon.
